I see we have very similar assosiations. Today at work I've finished reading The Culture Industry, suprisingly after 5 whole hours instead of 1 hour of quick gaze, I told myself I'd sacrifice on that. I guess, it must have been pretty intresting than !

Anyway... "The talent belong to the operation long before they are put on the show..." Of course "Got Talent" comes as first to my mind, because it is like Adorno's dellusional visions coming to life in their whole glory. The ultimate show. There's action, there's laughter and tears, there's crowd psychology, there's "american dream" and success. Paradoxaly, I knew most of the manipulative moves they are using. I know they are cheap, cheesy and I hate myself for that, but I still follow the show, I cry and I laught with heroes and heroines. I simply cannot stop myself.

What not everybody knows though, but it came to my attention, is that if a person is talented and have a chance to go further up till the Grand Finale, he or she has to sell his or her image to the TV station long before the shootings. He cannot change his hairdo, make-up, clothing style without TV station's permittions. And these are only the small things... there is definitely more of that.

Unfortunately for TV stations, there are some who dont agree with this approach. They lose they chance for success, but they keep their dignity.
